Two BioDATA students from South Africa were selected for their internship at the University of Oslo Natural History Museum from February to April 2024. The internship for Raesibe Kgaphola was on biodiversity data of crop wild relatives and was supervised by Desalegn Chala.

GBIF Norway contributed to a joint Biodiversa+ GBIF symposium in Helsinki on the 16th of April 2024.

Dr. Sabine von Mering from the Museum für Naturkunde in Berlin joined us for a short guest researcher visit in Oslo in February 2024 including a Tangled Bank seminar at the museum and the the UiO Data Manager Network seminar at the University Library.

To help with the BioDT Crop Wild Relative pDT hackathon, Associate Professor Mauricio Parra Quijano of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia sede Bogotá joined us for a guest researcher visit in Oslo in January 2024.

A proposal for creating a LTER Norway consortium was submitted to the 2023 national research infrastructure call in Norway.

The BioDATA Advanced project includes the exchange of student interns. Two 4-month MSc student internships (1 February - 31 May 2024) at the University of Oslo Natural History Museum, in biodiversity data skills and molecular methods.

GBIF Norway was invited to the UiO Digital Scholar Centre Data Managers Network to present how we use biodiversity ontologies.

The Norwegian GBIF node is hosted by the University of Oslo Natural History Museum and has been approved for status as UiO "kjernefasilitet" (core research infrastructure).

The UiO Natural History Museum is invited to present the evacuation of the Kherson herbarium in Ukraine at the 2023 annual conference for the Norwegian Association of Archives .

GBIF Norway and the GBIF Secretariat were invited as speakers at the Plant Treaty (ITPGRFA) fifth meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee ( SAC) of the Global Information System ( GLIS) in Rome from 8 th to 9 th May 2023.
