Special fields
I am a vegetation ecologist. I have analysed variation in species composition in Norwegian ecosystems (mire, boreal forest, agricultural landscapes and alpine heaths) in relation to the environment. I take particular interest in statistical methods for analysis of vegetation-environment relationships, among others ordination and distribution modelling methods, plant population biology, ecosystem monitoring, and systems for description of variation in nature. From 2005 I am responsible for development of the type and description system for variation in Norwegian nature, 'Natur i Norge'.
