A new network for convergent evolution research
From 14-16 September 2026, researchers from across the Nordic countries will meet in Drøbak, Norway, for the first in-person meeting of the Nordic Convergent Evolution Network (NCEN).
Led by Siri Birkeland from the Evolution, eDNA, Genomics and Ethnobotany (EDGE) research group and Lene Liebe Delsett from the Norwegian Centre of Palaeontology (NORPAL), NCEN brings together early-career researchers working on convergent evolution across different species, disciplines and biological scales.
The kick-off meeting will mark the start of the network's activities and provide an opportunity to present ongoing research, exchange ideas and build new collaborations among researchers with a shared interest in convergent evolution.
