Natural History Museum is hosting the national node of Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). GBIF aims at making data on global diversity available online.
Contains about 100,000 objects preserved for scientific use, including whole skins, skeletons and bones, eggs, sperm cells, as well as tissue, blood or DNA for molecular analyses.
The museum's bryophyte herbarium comprises 150,000 specimens from Norway, a general herbarium (ca. 75,000), a type herbarium with ca. 100 types and a collection of older exsiccata.
