Kristiansand is a beautiful coastal city in south Norway located on the Skagerrak. Geologically Kristiansand lies in the center of the Sveconorwegian pegmatite districts Mandal, Setesdal and Bamble. Between c. 1880 and 1960s the Kristiansand harbor exported feldspar mined from c. 500 pegmatites in a 50-km radius to porcelain factories in Denmark and Germany.
