00:00.000 --> 00:07.600
This little black skeleton is a Captorhinus, a primate from the Carbonic Age, the great swamp ages.

00:07.600 --> 00:13.200
This is one of the very first primates, before it was a type of amphibian animal.

00:13.200 --> 00:18.800
The reason it's called Captorhinus is that they were sometimes captured in these hollow wood piles,

00:18.800 --> 00:21.800
but then they were covered with mud and fossilized.

00:21.800 --> 00:28.000
The name Captorhinus means "the one who is captured", and this is one of my absolute favorite objects in the geological exhibitions.
