Mammoth in Norway
The Mammoth, Mammuthus primigenius, was an elephant with thick, dark fur. It lived in areas with a cold climate. Now the mammoth is extinct. Finds of fossil teeth and bones tell us that the mammoth lived in Norway between 55.000 and 40.000 years ago, in a slightly warmer period (an interstadial) during the last Ice Age.
Dima, a baby mammoth was found in Siberia (Russia) in 1977. List of contents in the mammoth showcase
