Age: Cretaceous

Size: D=ca. 3 cm  

Sea urchin with long (5-7 cm) tapering spines. Hemicidaris grazed algae living on rocks on the sea bottom. Fossils of this genus are known from Middle Jurassic through Early Cretaceous.
