Faglige interesser

Mine forskningsinteresser er mineralogi og petrologi av granitter og pegmatitter og tilknyttet sjeldne-metall- (Li, Sn, W, In, Nb, Ta, REE), edelstein- og industrimineralforekomster (kvarts, feltspat, glimmer, fluoritt). Mitt forskningskonsept er den genetiske mineralogi som forklarer mangfoldet av mineraler på jorden og hvordan og hvorfor de er dannet. Den røde tråd i min forskning er kjemien og mineralogi av kvarts, som er en av de mest vanlige mineraler i jordskorpen og et viktig industrimineral, for eksempel, for fremstilling av solceller og mikrobrikker. Den anvendte mineralogi er en viktig del av mine studier for å formidle hvilke og hvor mineraler brukes til produksjon av bruksgjenstander i vårt daglige liv. Hele min forskning er tett knyttet til nasjonal og internasjonal  gruve- og mineralprosesseringsindustrien. Jeg driver også med forskning om geovitenskapshistorie.
