DNA laboratories

In addition to its well-equipped laboratory for analysis of modern DNA, the Museum establishes a separate ancient DNA (aDNA) laboratory in 2010. The NCB chairs a national network for DNA barcoding (NorBOL –Norwegian Barcode of Life) with 16 member institutions (seven natural history museums and nine research institutes). The NorBOL network is planned as a regional node in the International Barcode of Life (iBOL) project with a special responsibility for barcoding arctic biodiversity.
