Arctic research in mineralogy, volcanology, geochemistry and mineral resources
The research group in Mineralogy and Mineral Resources has several projects within Arctic regions. The projects span several scientific disciplines and a large geographical area, including Svalbard, Jan Mayen, Iceland and the mod-ocean ridge systems from the Reykjanes to the Gakkel Ridge.
The group members have been, and are involved in several project, e.g. in Iceland. Only four of these projects are described here.
Individual projects
- Mineral Resources on Svalbard (Segalstad)
- Zeolite facies mineralization in the Hvalfjordur area, Iceland (Selbekk)
- The 1362 AD plinian Öræfajökull eruption, Iceland : Petrology and geochemistery of large-volume homogeneous rhyolitic eruption (Selbekk, Trønnes)
