Earth history; Jurassic
|
Jurassic This period was dominated by a constantly warm climate, with the same groups of dinosaurs and plants living on all continents. The northern part of Pangaea was breaking up and the northern Atlantic Ocean was formed between Greenland-North America and Europe-Africa. Plant-eating dinosaurs evolved into the largest land-living animals that has ever lived, while some small carnivorous dinosaurs developed feathers and become the ancestors of all birds. In the ocean, the ichthyosaurs and the plesiosaurs ruled, and the ammonites (cephalopods) were numerous. |
