A complete skeleton of a Permian (appr. 240 mill. years old) reptile preserved in a red sandstone. The largest and best preserved reptile faunas of this age are found in the Urals in Russia. The preservation is almost perfect in most of the fossils in this locality. The red colour of the enclosing sediment is due to oxidized iron, and is typical of terrestrial and some fresh-water sandstones.
