Espen Madsen Knutsen ved Naturhistorisk museum vil forsvare sin avhandling "Late Jurassic plesiosaurians (Sauropterygia – Plesiosauria) from the Agardhfjellet Formation on Svalbard’" for ph.d.-graden.

Ulf Jørgen Borgen vil forsvare sin avhandling "Morphology, phylogeny and taxonomy of osteolepiform fish" for dr. philos.-graden.
